Updating My Corkboard

The corkboard in my room somehow managed to get SUPER boring, and

just BLEH :[[[ ... me being the ultra girly girl I just had to fix it!!!
(please excuse my pics/ my camera is old)
In the beginning:

4 actual pictures (1 random internet- hairstyle pic)
4 Bible Verses (colored index cards)
Math Homework, mini bag from guatemala, 1 post it note, meaning of Christian colors, reminder note, one full paper of a Brennan Manning quote)
2 prayers

I began by emptying the corkboard.
Reccomendations...
1. When you drop a tak- LOOK for it, dont just leave it, it will miss you and reach out for your foot
2. Dont hold taks in your hand and mouth while trying to remove things from the board- lips will be punctured
3. It should look something like this:

I grabbed two pieces of scrapbook paper and a quote and threw it together

with a picture in the middle ( I used the same concept for the bottom right corner)

Here is the top left corner:

I first put up things for all four corners/ I then worked my

way along the edges/ lastly I filled the middle up

Drumroll PLEEEEASE!!!!

TA-DAH!!!>>>the finished product!

Hints:

BE RANDOM>>I have buttons, circle stickers, and a guitar pick- things like that make the board more fun and pleasing to look at.

USE COLOR>>Make the board POP out!!

OVERLAP>>Don't be afraid to use one tack to hold 3 things together :]

USEFULNESS>>I put tylenol, motrin, and band aids on mine- I’m rather clumsy so those things will be gone in NO time. I also have my next doctors appt time, and my mom’s work number on my board.

We Got Promise Rings!

Lee is leaving for basic training on June 2, and we decided to get promise rings before he left so that when he comes back he can get it and take it with him to whatever base he gets stationed at. The first place we looked was James Avery . I have a ring that I was given for Christmas my sophmore year, and I just love it!!! We ended up finding some matching wedding bands that we decided would be PERFECT. The rings have the Bible verse SoS 6:3 which reads “My beloved is thine and I am his” and on Lee’s ring it says “hers” at the end. The BEST part is that the writing is ORIGINAL HEBREW!!!! The rings are gorgeous

Real {ly funny} “Relationships”

For some reason I really enjoy finding out when my students have crushes on other kiddos (they are in kinder and first grade) it just cracks me up to hear what their priorities are in relationships! ***names have been changed***

Example #1: I have this sweet little girl named Emily who told me that her GIRLfriend was Billy and he said his BOYfriend was Emily as I tried to correct them they INSISTED they were correct and I was very much wrong because if you are a girl in a relationship your special friend is your Girlfriend and vice versa.

HAHA Example #2:
Me: hey Tommy I heard you have a girlfriend at school now
Tommy: Yeah she’s really nice
Me: what did she do that was so nice
Tommy: she shared her orange crayon with me
teehee!!!! that is SO cute!

Last but not least
Example # 3
James: Miss Shayla I have a new girlfriend!
Me: oh really?! whats her name?
James: Sara, she’s really pretty!!!
Me: I bet she is!!! what does she look like
James: she looks alot like her twin sister
Me: oh theres TWO of them!!! WOW!!! do you like both of them?
James: EW NOOOOOO
Me: whats wrong with her sister?
James: She wears a headband- I’m not into that

Romans 5:8

Have you ever read a Bible verse and had it hit you in such a way that you just have to read it over and over? That’s how I feel about Romans 5:8 – for some strange reason it has just stuck with me more than John 3:16 which i also love, but it just didn’t have the same effect, maybe because that’s a verse nonbelievers hear ALL the time (I used to read it on t-shirts alot). Here’s Romans 5:8 ” But God proves/demonstrates His own love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us!” [I put both proves/demonstrates because I think it's necessary ] So lets just dissect this verse for a minute

God- The CREATOR of the ENTIRE UNIVERSE
Proves/demonstrates- Physically establishes by making evident
His own love- He gave up the life of HIS ONLY Son
For us- Thieves, Liars, Adulterers, Murders, SINFUL scum!!!
STILL SINNERS- we can’t ever stop things our sin CONTINUES, we continue to do wrong daily, we even sin without realizing it!
Christ Died For Us- A living sacrifice of the only 100% man and 100% God person to ever walk this earth SUFFERED and WENT TO HELL FOR YOU so that you could live ETERNALLY (like forever and ever and ever times infinity) in Heaven with GOD (mr. universe creator) and Jesus.
!- He MEANS IT

My version of Romans 5:8

“The creator of the entire universe physically established his love for me in that he volunteered to allow his only son to suffer and die for a group of sinful scum that screw up daily so that one day those people could live in His Kingdom forever and ever times infinity!!!”

^^^^WOW does that not make you want to just fall to your knees and SCREAM “Use me Lord I am so NOT worth YOUR SON having to die so please have your will with me, I will drop everything to listen to and follow you so that one day I can live in your Kingdom!”

Saturday was a lot of fun! I went to a birthday party of one of my

student’s and I even went to IKEA! <>

Unfortunately, my stomach started hurting on the way back from IKEA

(maybe it was the $0.50 hot dog?) So, this morning because it was still

being all nauseous and queasy, I decided to be a church skipper this morning

So, since I skipped church I was wanting to know- what did you study in church? Did you learn anything in sunday school? What was your sermon over?

50. Finish my Sudoku book (out of 390 puzzles I have 18 done)

51. Eat at least one fruit/vegetable everyday (im SO bad at that)

52. Learn to respond to disrespectful behavior in a Christian manner (I tend to get snippy and rude when people are being disrespectful to me)

53. Find a way to be able to put more things in my closet in an organized way (maybe drawers and shelves need to be brought in)

54. Go to bed at 10pm on school nights! I need to get my body into the habit of going to bed earlier so that I can wake up earlier, and more refreshed

55. Show up to class- ON TIME…this may not be such a great goal

56. Become a Health Nut

57. Subscribe to another magazine

58. Own Beauty and the Beast on DVD

59. Make my corkboard look presentable

60. Learn how to change a tire

61. Be able to figure out how to fold a fitted sheet…its an ongoing battle for me

62. Visit a petting zoo

63. Put together a 500 piece puzzle

64. Own a C.S. Lewis book

65. Visit the aquarium

66. Get a summer job

67. Go horseback riding

68. Get a great find at an antique store

69. Buy new bedding

70. Find a healthy cereal that I like

96. Get into the habit of drinking at least a bottle of water everyday

99. Get my fake nails back!

100. Find Lee’s camera computer adapter..I lost it

101. Take my car to the car wash all by myself ( I tend to have others do it for me )

Well that took me WAY TOO long to come up with goals! I think that I have already accomplished some of them, so I will blog those things soon

Stress Sickness

Do you ever get so caught up in being stressed out that your body automatically catches the first cold you come into contact with? That’s what happened to me today- I was perfectly fine yesterday (besides my stress level being at 350–out of 100) and this morning when my alarm went off I was barely able to get up to turn it off, i felt like there was an elephant sitting on my head and chest- the pressure was AWFUL

I managed to make myself go back to sleep. I got up at ten and as soon as my mom saw me she said “oh no, not you too!!!” (anyone can tell when i’m sick- i get racoon eyes! big black circles!!!)

haha do you like all these animal analogies?

Anywho after I washed my face, and took some OTC drugs I started feeling better.

I have spent the last hour and a half catching up on all of my math assignments (long story short, my web access number for my online “MathLab” was denied…for 3 weeks…and all of our homework is via internet) I officially have all A’s in homework- and I am now working on what is due tomorrow . I also took my online exam for my teaching class and I made a 96!!! One exam down..only a Bajillion left! haha

I am still planning on going to work, so after work i have time to study for my Biology Exam.

I guess this sickness was a blessing in disguise

I definitley have been praying alot about school, and grades, and decisions. Sharing my worries and fears with the Lord helps me feel less helpless and more at ease knowing that He cares, and I am not alone.

COLLEGE STRESS

My biology notes are missing! including my test reviews and class powerpoints

BIOLOGY EXAM 4 DUE THURSDAY

ALGEBRA EXAM 2 DUE FRIDAY

BIOLOGY EXAM 5 DUE NEXT TUESDAY

LAB PRACTICAL 2 DUE NEXT WEDNESDAY

and then… FINALS!!!!!

AHHH!!!!!!!! Please pray that I survive this week :S I am freakin out!!!!!!,

Just another Monday

I’m sorry to say that I haven’t got much to talk about today

- I’m still working on that dern list of 101 goals! I need like 6 more random goals (please give me any ideas!)

- Easter was wonderful, the service was PERFECT. Our Lord is amazing!

- After many long convos (not just between us but with our families as well), plenty of prayer, and a new perspective on love, Lee and i have decided to be “boyfriend and girlfriend.” He left this morning for MEPS (spell?) which is where the military will check his health and he has to take the military exam to see what job he will be given. I won’t find out anything until tomorrow They keep the guys for 24 hours. He is trying to get into the US Coast Guard, please keep him and all the other fellas with him in your prayers, the process is so nerve rackin!!!!

- My math teacher is amazing he is giving me extra time to take my exam! He explained to out class how it is against his religion to wear a wedding ring…I thought that was kinda intresting

- Tomorrow night! Suzuki Strings Spring performance! My brother will be playing cello, some of my first graders will be playing violin, and I am SUPER excited (Lee might get to come as well )
